Material expertise

More than 125 years of experience in glass technology and manufacturing guarantee the superior quality of SCHOTT glass tubing. SCHOTT FIOLAX® borosilicate glass tubes are made of Type I glass of the highest hydrolytic resistance. Excellent barrier and cosmetic properties, high chemical resistance, light protection as well as tight geometric tolerances in diameter and thickness are the starting point for manufacturing high quality syringes with an outstanding process capability designed for state-of-the-art filling lines.

Pharmaceutical containers made of advanced cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) of the highest purity are break resistant, light weight and transparent with a glass-like appearance. COC hightech polymer shows excellent barrier properties, no ion or heavy metal release, and a lower particle level than glass. SCHOTT has more than 10 years of experience with COC for pharmaceutical applications.A very good alternative to glass!

Prefillable glass syringes:

forma 3s® is a completely sterile syringe set, ready for the filling process. forma 3s syringes with staked needle, luer cone or luer lock are packed in nests for easy handling and filling.

forma 2s is designed for bulk production. These syringes are delivered in non-sterile form. The unassembled glass barrels with staked needle, luer cone or luer lock are packed in trays.

Prefillable polymer syringes:

SCHOTT TopPac® is sterile prefillable syringes made of COC high-tech polymer. They are packed in nest form to enable easy handling and filling. SCHOTT TopPac syringes are available with integrated luer lock.

Glass vials:

SCHOTT offers a broad range of glass vials from 1 ml to 100 ml with different neck finish designs (crimp neck or screw neck), with European or American blowback or without blowback, to meet any need you may have. They are available in clear or amber SCHOTT FIOLAX.

Glass ampoules:

Glass ampoules offer a great benefit: the medication is in contact with glass only and the packaging is 100% tamper proof. SCHOTT Pharmaceutical supplies a wide range of ampoules in different forms and break systems. Several color rings can be placed on the stem or body for identification purposes.

Glass cartridges:

SCHOTT is a leading supplier of pen cartridges and special solutions like double chamber cartridges in the range of 1 ml up to 10 ml volume. Cartridges are available for pen injection systems, for anti-diabetes therapy such as modern and human insulin or GLP-1 formulations as well as for other biotech applications.
