Australia based food processing and packaging equipment supplier TNA has introduced a new vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) system, tna arctic 3, for fresh and frozen sector.

Featuring full wash-down functionality and a hygienic design, the new packaging solution is designed to run efficiently and reliably in hostile wet and cold processing environments.

The launch comes as the company acquired Italian manufacturer of VFFS technology for the fresh and frozen sector, Sabalpack, earlier this year.

The tna arctic 3, which is the result of the combined engineering expertise of two firms, is the latest generation of Sabalpack’s existing arctic range of full wash-down VFFS systems, tna said.

tna group general manager Michael Green said: “Sabalpack has a long history in the development of all stainless steel equipment, which made the company’s portfolio a great fit for our own range of high performance VFFS technology.”

Capable of meeting harsh environments and rigorous sanitation requirements, the new machine meets tna’s high standards in terms of flexibility, simplicity and performance.

Green added: “The tna arctic 3 is a great addition to our portfolio and can be seamlessly integrated with our wider range of industry-leading processing and packaging solutions.

“Whether its multi-head weighers, conveyers, date coders, metal detectors or inserters and labellers, we’re able to support fresh and frozen manufacturers with complete solutions from a single source.”

The tna arctic 3 also offers enhanced sealing performance and accuracy on a wide range of packaging films, including laminated polypropylene and polyethylene films like linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE).

Additionally, the packaging solution supports multiple bag options, including pillow, gusseted and square bottom bags, plus multipacks, offering manufacturers complete application flexibility on a single packaging system.
