Færch Plast to unveil Modular Packaging containers range for airline industry

Færch Plast, a manufacturer of plastics packaging for food industry will unveil Modular Packaging range of lightweight, stackable containers at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo scheduled to be held from 5-7 April 2016 in Germany.

The food containers are designed specially for in-flight tray sets and are ideally suited to a wide range of meal options for airline industry.

Designed in compliance with on-board weight and space restrictions, the packs can be produced from Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate (APET) or Crystalline Polyethylene Terephthalate (CPET), offering cost, environmental, handling and design benefits.

The APET packs are designed for cold foods with a temperature resistance of -40 °C to +70°C while the CPET trays are ideal for foods in temperatures from -20°C to +220°C.

Færch Plast said that the Modular Packaging range of food containers can be cost effective and more efficient and stable alternative to aluminium packs and rotable solutions,

The trays can also be customized for applications, including starters, main meals, desserts, salads and snacks, and branded using different materials, colors, shapes and textures.

Additionally, the multi-use, stacking concept of the containers allows to cover the whole on-board meal service, including breakfast, starter, hot/main menu, desserts and snacks, across short, mid or long-haul flights.

Comprising post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, the Modular Packaging range complies with all European Union and US Food and Drug Administration food contact regulations.

Recently, Faerch Plast has developed black and green trays for the Greencore give Asda' range of core Italian chilled ready meals.

Produced from high quality CPET, the trays feature a rich olive green shade on the outer surface and black on the inside.
