H.B. Fuller introduces two new flexible packaging adhesives

26 May 2015

H.B. Fuller has introduced two new flexible packaging adhesives, promising manufacturers savings in time and cost.

The adhesives, Flextra Fast and Flextra Reseal, were launched at ICE Europe in Munich, Germany.

The Flextra Fast SFA 8700 + XR 1100 / XR 1200 adhesive system is suitable to a range of substrate combinations, from general to high performance.

It will allow them to reduce change-over times between production runs and have increased flexibility for the converter.

The company said line speed is increased and curing time is cut down to a day or two.

Slitting can commence within six to nine hours of lamination, and it takes less than 24 hours for food contact compliance with the help of fast PAA decay.

The Flextra Reseal 2120 extrusion hot melt adhesive meets consumer's need for reclosable packaging that keeps food fresh for long time and prevents waste.

The adhesive's melt flow index is suitable for several material combinations.

H.B. Fuller marketing manager Elizabeth Staab said: "The strong market trend for flexible packaging has generated great expansion opportunities for manufacturers, who can keep up with the changes in customer demand.

"In developing our two new flexible packaging adhesives, we have connected with the operational efficiency and sustainability drives of manufacturers, brand owners and consumers."
