24 March 2015

Bengaluru-based Pyramid Packaging, a part of corrugation major Horizon Packs Group headed by Kirit Modi has invested in Esko’s Kongsberg XP 24 digital sample maker and ArtiosCAD software.

Sachin Modi, director, Pyramid Packaging said, “The USP of this investment is that it processes a wide array of materials with short set-up time and we need not wait for a die. The integration with the CAD editor allows us to run jobs from a single unit to full-scale production with as many as a thousand units in a day.”

Pyramid Packaging houses one of the highly sophisticated corrugated lines in the country. In 2013, it unveiled India’s first Bobst FFG 618 Quatro flexo folder-gluer.

Esko’s India sales director, Shrihari Rao acknowledged that being associated with Pyramid Packaging and the Horizon Packs Group as a whole has been very rewarding.

Rao said, "With Kongsberg XP, Several materials can be cut at top speed, 100 m/minute, and an idle speed of 100 m/minute makes the XP more efficient even with materials that demand a reduced feed rate."

“The Esko Kongsberg XP 24 sample table enables quick sampling, complex size short production runs and acts like an ideal workhorse. Esko is an integral component of our converting operations and we plan to run it round the clock,” concluded Modi.
