Klöckner Pentaplast launches new light blocking shrink label films

5 November 2016

Klöckner Pentaplast has expanded its shrink film product portfolio with the introduction of new light blocking shrink label film.

The new Pentalabel eklipse label can be used in new or redesigning packaging of food, health and beauty, home and garden, and household products.

The new product will inject maximum light blocking properties into the film process and eliminates the need for high-barrier primary containers.

According to the firm, the new films provide a blend of benefits such as extended shelf life, off-taste reduction and vitamin protection (dairy products), reduced total package costs and color protection

Klöckner Pentaplast labels group senior vice president Phil Heyworth said: “eklipse has a built-in, almost complete light block, with no need for expensive backside black printing – saving processing time and money.

Klöckner Pentaplast lables global marketing officer Chris Frank said: “Pentalabel eklipse combines the highest level of whiteness for this category of barrier shrink sleeve product with superior light blocking capabilities.”

In September, Klöckner unveiled a new range of label film packaging solutions and services at Labelexpo Americas 2016.

The company exhibited Pentalabel ClearFloat and PMMI Master Class sleeving substrates at the event.

Pentalabel ClearFloat films have been developed to increase efficiency in the recycling process, while Pentalabel ClearFloat provides enhanced processability and durability required for consumer labels.

Klöckner Pentaplast provides packaging, printing and specialty solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage and card markets.
