Linpac, Progressive Packaging to introduce tray pack solutions at IPPE 2017

12 January 2017

Food packaging manufacturer Linpac, in partnership with food processing material supplier Progressive Packaging, is planning to showcase complete tray pack solutions at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) 2017.

The partners will launch two complementary tray and film innovations for meat and poultry packers and processers at the IPPE 2017 event, which is scheduled to be held from 31 January to 2 Febuary in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

LINPAC North America business development manager Daniel Strickland said: “We are proud to introduce our sustainable tray packaging solutions to the North American market.

“We are seeing a trend in Europe for a move away from short shelf life foamed trays and overwrap film to longer shelf life barrier trays and lidding film, predominantly in recycled rPET.

“We are excited to bring these preferred recycled material options to the US marketplace.”

Linpac said that the recyclable MAP packaging formats which will be showcased at the event will consist of lightweight plastic rPET trays manufactured from 95% post-consumer super-cleaned recycled material.

Sealed with high barrier LINtop CXO film, the Linpac Rfresh Elite lid-seal tray features a patented adhesive sealant on the flange of the tray, eliminating the need for the industry standard PE base film.

At the event, Linpac will also highlight its Rfresh Evolve VSP Tray designed for vacuum skin packing.

The rPET tray, which is vacuum-sealed with LINtop HB PE high barrier ‘easy peel’ film, provides high visibility, no-leak packaging for processors and retailers that desire extended shelf life.
