Macfarlane Packaging, the Glasgow-based packaging business, has invested £300,000 in a new ‘packaging innovation lab’ in Milton Keynes.

The company said the facility used technology including interactive touchscreens and latest packaging design software to help customers develop packaging solutions that reduce costs, maximise efficiency and minimise returns.

Part of Macfarlane Group, which employs 700 people at 22 sites mostly in the UK and Ireland, Macfarlane Packaging is the UK’s largest distributor of protective packaging materials. Its clients include House of Fraser, Mothercare and DHL. The group has more than 20,000 customers in the UK, Europe and the US.
