Packaging supplier, Integrated Fabric Resource opens plant in Mexico

29 July 2015

A maker of textile-based packaging containers is opening a plant in Mexico.

Integrated Fabric Resource of Zeeland, or IFR, announced this month the "start" of a plant in Irapuato, Mexico.

Mexican presence

The company already has a sales presence in Mexico, and the plant will enhance its customer support.

IFR said the plant is located in the “center of the Mexican automotive manufacturing industry.”

Doug Buma, IFR president, said the new facility reflects the company’s commitment to its customers in Mexico.

“We look forward to building on the relationships that we enjoy in Mexico,” Buma said.

The company will now have two manufacturing facilities and six sales offices in North America.

Product lines

With the additional plant, IFR said it will increase its manufacturing capacity of textile-based returnable packaging systems, along with production of the SpeedCell Storage Solutions line by Holland Storage Systems, or HSS — a division of IFR. IFR launched HSS in 2011.

The vertical columns used in the SpeedCell Storage Solutions line help companies maximize storage space and optimize order selection of their products.

IFR supplies products to various industries, including electronics, aerospace and automotive.
