Petainer Innopac Packaging opens new manufacturing facility near Mumbai, India

Petainer Innopac Packaging, a joint venture between Petainer UK Holdings and Innopac Containers, today opened its new facility near the city to manufacture plastic packaging solutions.

The plant has been designed to provide customers with PET/plastics packaging solutions using Petainer's advanced polymer engineering technology.

Among others, the plant houses world-class blow moulding equipment to manufacture the 20 litre bulk water cooler jar, as well as a fully equipped on-site design studio, laboratory services and warehousing.

Petainer had recently introduced the petainerKeg - a one-way 20 or 30 litre keg for the beer, wine and other beverage segments.

"More equipment and products will be brought online in the coming months", the company said in a statement.

Petainer UK Holdings CEO Nigel Pritchard said: "India presents an exciting and dynamic market opportunity for our innovative packaging solutions."

"There is huge interest and demand from brand owners in India who genuinely recognise Petainer's advanced polymer engineering brings significant benefits in terms of reduced cost of ownership and improved sustainability", Pritchard added.

UK-based Petainer is into making PET (Poly Ethylene Terephthalate) plastic containers and system solutions.

"The plant and its strategic location supports our ambitious growth plans for the region which is based on providing customers with an exciting portfolio of innovative and game changing solutions," Petainer Innopac Packaging managing director Atit Bhatia said.
