Pollard Boxes expands UK facility

8 July 2015

Rigid box maker Pollard Boxes has expanded its manufacturing facility in Leicester, UK, with the addition of 6,000ft2 to facilitate storage and despatch.

The expanded space not only provides storage facilities for goods but also a large packaging and despatch area, consolidating the company's output capability.

Pollard Boxes commercial director Peter Conner said: "We are seeing strong demand across our range of services.

"These latest series of investments will ensure we have both the capabilities and flexibility to react quickly to customer demands, tailored to their precise requirements."

Increasing the facility's total area to 100,000ft2, the extended space will support the firm's end-to-end fulfilment operations that include design and manufacture of boxes, packaging, printing, labelling, distribution, and inventory management.

The expansion is part of the investment being made by Pollard Boxes in the past 18 months when new equipment and facilities were installed at the cost of over £1m.

A Sakurai printer was installed for producing off-line spot UV varnish, silk screen printing and elaborate finishes.

A fully automatic Emmeci MC2012 MEB was put in place for manufacturing drinks presentation boxes up to 330mm deep, stated to be the first-of-its-kind in the UK as the existing ones are found capable of manufacturing boxes up to 210mm.

Pollard offers luxury packaging services to the beauty, drinks, gifts, entertainment and corporate markets.
