Ukraine's Rubizhne cardboard mill's corrugated cardboard boxes output drops 21.8% in Jan-May

The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill in Luhansk region, one of Ukraine's largest cardboard packaging producers, produced 73.74 million square meters of corrugated cardboard boxes in January-May 2015, including goods from its Trypilsky packaging plant, which is 21.8% down year-over-year.

In January-April 2015, the mill saw production slump by 19.9%, according to the Ukrpapir paper producers' association.

Generally, cardboard packaging production in Ukraine fell by 17.7%, to 289.43 million square meters, according to Ukrpapir.

In January-May 2015, Rubizhne cardboard mill and Trypilsky packaging plant cut production of components of corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) by 20.7%, to 88,930 tonnes.

The total commodity amount produced by both plants in January-May 2015 in monetary terms grew by 45%, to UAH 1.083 billion, according to Ukrpapir.

The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill has been working in the packaging market since 1991, and specializes in the production of components for corrugated cardboard (cardboard and fluting) and corrugated cardboard boxes.

Among its most important customers are large confectioneries, juice and tobacco producers.

As reported, the total commodity amount produced by both plants grew by 21.1%, to UAH 2.064 billion in 2014, when corrugated cardboard output totaled 233.059 million square meters, which almost corresponds to the 2013 rate.

The Rubizhne cardboard packaging mill acquired Trypilsky packaging plant in 2002, and subsequently commenced the production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging.
