UK’s Country Products installs Allen Coding NGT2 thermal transfer printers

UK-based Country Products has installed four additional NGT2 thermal transfer printers from Allen Coding at its facility in North Yorkshire.

Country Products is a supplier of healthy snacks, nuts, dried fruits, mueslis and herbs and spices.

Allen Coding said that its high performance NGT2 thermal transfer systems, which replaced old printers at the manufacturing site, has resulted in 10% increase in production efficiencies for Country Products.

With a print area of 53mmx50mm, the NGT2 can be easily switched between intermittent (IM) and continuous motion (CM) modes.

Offering flexible 2” wide printing and 650 prints per minute (ppm), the machine boasts a print resolution at 12 dots/mm or 300dpi.

Country Products managing director Mark Leather said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Allen Coding which dates back to the installation of our first automated packing lines.

“They recommended the NGT2 to strengthen our marking and coding function in line with business growth, the addition of new product ranges, and the need to maximise uptime.”

The NGT2 printers are being used by Country Products to apply data, including product title, nutritional information, address and legal details, to the packaging film, which is manufacturing from polypropylene, polyester or laminate.

Country Products operates five production lines, each featuring two NGT2 machines mounted on Gainsborough form fill seal machines. It operates at a speed of up to around 30 packs per minute.

Leather added: “We have gradually replaced all our old printers and the latest four NGT2 thermal transfer systems complete the upgrade.”

The machine is designed to print a range of variable information including bar codes, date codes and serialization at high speeds.
