Ultimate Packaging is on expansion mode

28 April 2015

Ultimate Packaging based in North East Lincolnshire is making further investment to remodel it’s food standard factory and to install two additional Bobst F&K 20SIX flexo presses, at an investment of £4 million; the objective to increase production capacity and flexibility.

The investment will facilitate a streamlined manufacturing process, faster setup times and faster print speeds across the plant, increasing print capacity by 15 per cent. The flexo print factory will be able to produce an additional 3 million linear metres of flexible packaging, pushing monthly production volumes close to 30 million linear metres.

Chris Tonge, Ultimate Packaging Sales and Marketing Director commented: ‘The dramatic changes to the factory and massive investment into flexo print is a step to future-proof the flexo business and sends a clear message to both our customers and competitors. We are a truly independent company, experiencing a time of significant growth and development. We are focused on ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality products, which is why we invest in the very best equipment available.’

Ultimate have a 15 year heritage in the manufacture of printed, flexible packaging and as a business are regarded as an innovative and responsive supplier; producing high quality, flexible packaging for food manufacturers across the UK.

The business is a leader in high definition flexo print technology and the use of reduced colour flexo print, a technique that reduces waste, setup time and cost.

The Ultimate business has made consistent smart investments into new business areas and state-of-the-art technologies. The Digital business recently installed the new HP Indigo 20000, wide format digital press; the first and currently only press of its kind in the UK.

Earlier this year the Digital team hosted an open day working with partner agency Sharp Iris to raise the profile of digital workflows and print; inviting brands and retailers to share inspirational, digital case studies.

Digital complements the flexo business, attracting new, big brand clients who are looking to increase consumer engagement using digitally printed packaging that features customisation, personalisation, one off designs and promotional links.

As a group the business can offer customers a complete packaging service from design to digital print, flexo print and packaging research and development.
