Xeikon, an innovator in digital color printing technology, today announced the introduction of two new toners, MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver. The two special silver metallic toner colors will enable more creative possibilities for designers as well as label and package printers and converters using Xeikon’s digital printing technologies. The luxury-look MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver toners are the first products in the new Xeikon Creative Colors toner group, which recognizes and explores the added value that special effects bring to label and packaging print, especially in the consumer products arena.

MatteSilver offers the luxury of a rich metal finish to the print substrate while PalladiumSilver – uniquely available for digital print in the Xeikon portfolio – features a speckled silver sparkle for extra textural interest.

“With this new Creative Colors toner line, Xeikon is mirroring the capabilities of flexo and offset inks. Xeikon toners: an industry-leading line-up

The new MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver toners complement Xeikon’s toner portfolio that include

-- Standard colors (CMYK);
-- Off-the-shelf spot colors which allow for a gamut expansion beyond CMYK;
-- Custom spot colors allowing to make unique colors based upon LAB values;
-- Technical colors which perform specific function like one-pass opaque white, UV reflecting clear, or security colors which reflect to a specific spectrum or contain certain taggents.

Creative Colors is a new group within this portfolio and these toners offer the same benefits as all of Xeikon’s toner in terms of food safety, lightfastness and eco-friendliness.

The MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver toners will be commercially available as of Labelexpo Europe 2015, taking place in Brussels, September 29 to October 2. “The premium finish offered by these two metallic toners is a great way to launch our exciting new Creative Colors line,” Van Bauwel concludes, “and Labelexpo Europe is the perfect event to show them in action on the Xeikon Cheetah press on our booth B/C 50, hall 9.”
