Ampacet, a manufacturer of additive masterbatches for flexible packaging and rigid packaging, has opened a new masterbatch production facility in Dandenong, Australia, to extend its footprint in the region.

The new facility manufactures custom colors and additives, that are used by the food, shipping, industrial and retail industries for inducing color, texture, metallic look, paper effects and functionality to flexible packaging.

It has processing equipment, that consists of two twin-screw extruders operated by latest control systems and semi-automatic bagging systems.

A new hub for product development and quality assurance is situated at the new production facility.

Headquartered in Tarrytown, New York, Ampacet provides products to bi-oriented polypropylene (BOPP), consumer products, flexible packaging, infra-structure & industrial products and rigid packaging markets.

The company has over eight decades of experience in the field and has offices across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

Ampacet president and CEO Yves Carette said: “We have long had a significant presence in Australia and New Zealand. Our new Dandenong facility enables us to better serve our customer’s needs.”

Victoria State minister for industry and employment Wade Noonam said: “Ampacet Australia joins an ever-growing list of manufacturers choosing to base their operations in Dandenong – one of the nation’s largest manufacturing precincts.”

Ampacet, which operates 24 facilities situated in 17 countries, designs custom colour, special effect, black, white, and specialty additive masterbatches for flexible and rigid extrusion processes and applications.

Founded in 1937, the firm employs over 2000 people and serves food & beverage, household, industrial, cosmetics, hygienics, personal care, agriculture, geo-textiles, consumer goods, E&E, construction, and automotive sectors.
