The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) is very pleased to welcome Mr Bertil Heerink as the new Director General for ACE. His appointment will be effective as of 15th April 2015.
Mr Heerink, a Dutch national, has had a long and distinguished career in the area of European public affairs and association management. For many years he served at the Dutch Environment Ministry, Permanent Representation to the EU, and European Commission, until he later joined the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) as director of EU government affairs. Since 2002 he was a Director General of Cosmetics Europe and was providing strategic advice for Kellen Europe before taking up his duties as ACE Director General.
The appointment of Mr Heerink demonstrates ACE's determination to continue to play a constructive role in the area of sustainability, as a professional and pro-active industry association.
