Bosch to unveil duplex packaging solution for ground coffee manufacturers

Bosch Packaging Technology is set to introduce a new duplex packaging solution for ground coffee manufacturers at this year’s Specialty Coffee Expo event in Seattle, US.
At the event, which will take place from 19 April to 22 April, the new compact system combining Spee-Dee auger filler and Bosch vertical bagger will be exhibited.
The new duplex machine is a combination of Spee-Dee’s 3600 Twin auger filler and Bosch’s SVE 1820 MR continuous motion bagger, and manufactures a range of bag sizes for one to eight-ounce packs weighing between 28g and 227g.
The vertical packaging system holds capacity to produce up to 300 airtight coffee bags per minute on minimum floor space.
Spee-Dee auger filler provides filling accuracy through tendency regulation with a checkweigher, helping to reduce product waste and provide better protection for valuable product such as coffee.
The filler also includes a patented sliding key tooling lock for effortless changeovers, as well as single hopper inlet to simplify the upstream product delivery system.
The open vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) machine design enables to improve the efficiency of the machine.
The tool-less hopper changeovers decrease downtime and minimize cross-contamination risk for ground coffee producers.
According to the company, the quality seals work with different film materials, allowing coffee producers to select between two- and three-ply films with best seal quality.
For coffee producers, Bosch provides various technologies ranging from raw material weighing and dosing, protection valves to end-of-line packaging.
