China-based Xiamen Yu Long Printing has installed a new Xeikon 3020 five color label press to boost its operations.

The new press, which is designed to meet the 10-inch market for self-adhesive labels, will complement the Xiamen Yu Long’s existing sheetfed, rotary letter press and offset web presses.

Xiamen Yu Long offers leaflets, posters, brochures and packing boxes customers from the garment, health and beauty sectors.

The new Xeikon 3020 format is designed to provide 10 inches of maximum width of converting lines for coating, foiling and die cutting.

Xiamen Yu Long director Li Yin Long said: “The ability to print variety of substrates, including PP, PET, PE, paper and metalized paper, was also important in our decision to buy.

“It fits the size and speed of our finishing equipment, and the Xeikon ICE toner allows us to work successfully with heat-sensitive material.”

The Xeikon 3020 is developed as an extension of the 3000 series of Xeikon label presses.

Long added: “We also liked having the flexibility of upgrading both speed and size later without a huge investment.

“In the first month using a single shift, we produced more than 50,000 meters of print, and we are planning to start a second shift soon.”

Xeikon, which is a division of Flint Group, builds, installs and maintains digital printing solutions for labels & packaging, document & commercial and folding carton.
