Dow introduces PacXpert technology in China

Thursday, Aug 20, 2015

Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics has partnered with Hunan China Sun Pharmaceutical Machinery to launch PacXpert flexible packaging technology in the Chinese market.

China Sun will introduce PacXpert in Greater China for flexible packaging of engine oils, edible oils, rice and detergent.

PacXpert enables manufactures to shift from rigid containers to flexible packaging. The technology develops cube-shaped package that is shelf stable and can stand upright and to its side.

The packaging has a fitment closure and ergonomic dual handles, helping in precision pouring and hassle-free carrying.

Dow has licesed the technology from Smart Bottle and sub-licenses it to converters who implement it in their flexible packaging products. It has been sub-licensed to Ampac in North America, Camada in Brazil, Darplas in Latin America, Leygapack in Europe, and Kyodo Priting in Japan, among others.

The company will display PacXpert at the Chinaplas 2015.

Additionally, Dow will showcase its other packaging technologies, resins and adhesives at the event.

Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics Asia Pacific commercial vice-president Mark Saurin said: "Dow is working at the intersections of the sciences to create innovations that will support the growth in food production and conservation needed to feed China's population."
