Eckart to unveil new pigments and colour series for plastics packaging applications

Eckart is set to exhibit its new pigments and colour trends for plastic packaging applications at the K 2016 event in Germany.

The event will take place in Düsseldorf from 19 to 26 October.

The new Luxan K family pigments have been developed to offer enhanced luster in transparent packaging of foods and cosmetics.

It can also be used in the interior trim of automobiles and household appliances, as well as sports or leisure goods.

Luxan K, along with dyes, can be used for applications based on transparent resins such as PETG, glass polymer and tritan.

In automotive applications, the new pigments are suitable for high gloss jet-black plastic components.

According to the company, the Luxan K is approved for food contact and suitable for polyolefins and PVC, as well as engineering plastics.

New Symic C 393 gold coloured effect pigment is suited for several applications such as packaging for food and cosmetics, as well as decorative purposes.

The company will also showcase new Wind Poems trend colour series, which includes 12 innovative colour creations. It will be used to enhance the effectiveness of a variety of designs.

The trend service Colour Road collaborates with colour and product designers, as well as international institutes to determine trends and future colour collections.

Eckart marketing and technical service groups plastics global head Dr Dietmar Mäder said: “Our new pigments offer the possibility to transform effects into emotions which attract consumers and pay off for our customers at the point of sale.”
