Green Bay Packaging acquires Grand Traverse Container

Green Bay Packaging Inc. (GBP) has acquired Grand Traverse Container, Inc (GTC), as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Grand Traverse Container was founded in 1995 by Tom Schofield and Mike Chereskin. GTC has consistently grown at a rate faster than the industry for over 20 years. GTC is headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan and has an operation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. GTC services all of Michigan, northern Ohio and northern Indiana.

"The acquisition of Grand Traverse Container is a great fit for Green Bay Packaging. This acquisition gives us the opportunity to continue to grow in an important region," explains Will Kress, President and CEO of Green Bay Packaging. "GTC has the perfect culture, workforce and strong leadership that fit the GBP model."

Grand Traverse Container will continue to be led by Tom Schofield and Mike Chereskin.

Green Bay Packaging Inc. is a family-owned, vertically integrated company consisting of corrugated container plants, folding cartons, recycled and virgin linerboard mills, pressure-sensitive label rollstock, specialty converting operations, timberlands, and a sawmill facility.
