Klöckner to unveil new packaging solutions at Pharmapack 2017

26 December 2016

US-based Klöckner Pentaplast is planning to introduce its pharmaceutical packaging solutions and services at Pharmapack 2017 scheduled to be held in France.

The firm plans to introduce its LiquiGuard, an addition to its Pentapharm line of pharmaceutical blister films, at the event.

The Pentapharm LiquiGuard is designed to allow hot- and cold-fill liquids and semi-solids to be packaged directly in a crystal-clear, thermostable laminate film.

This protects sensitive products from package leaching and moisture gain or loss, the company said.

The new blister films are designed for use in a wide range of applications including chewables, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, formulations sensitive to flavor or odor loss, unit dose liquids and veterinary packaging.

Klöckner Pentaplast pharmaceutical packaging director global marketing Frank Oliveri said: “Pentapharm LiquiGuard provides an advanced option for unit dose packaging of liquid or semi-solid medications that require resistance to extreme temperatures from hot (120ºC filling) to cold (-183ºC and lyophilized) during processing, while offering all the benefits of a clear, thermoformable blister film with a customizable moisture barrier.”

Additionally, the company intends to showcase its BlisterPro XCEL Services designed to optimize the union of product and packaging at the event, which is scheduled to be held from 1-2 February 2017.

In addition to offering advanced pharmaceutical packaging design and prototyping capabilities, the BlisterPro XCEL services helps manufacturing consulting, on-site troubleshooting and training to increase line efficiency, speed and quality.

Klöckner said that the ASAP lab studies, ASAPprime software and BlisterPro XCEL design and prototyping services, when combined, enable accelerated market introduction with increased accuracy in stability testing.
