Multivac has unveiled new paperboard solution, which offers various solutions to produce packaging from paper fibre based materials.

Multivac PaperBoard provides a variety of solutions for the production of packaging based on paper fibre that meet the needs of recyclability.

The new German Packaging Act, which will be implemented from 2019, and the EU Plastics Strategy, which was already in force from January this year, are composed to decrease the production of plastics across the world.

Multivac will work with major manufacturers on suitable packaging materials, which can be processed in standard systems.

The firm provides both thermoforming packaging machines and traysealers to process cardboard trays in MAP or skin packs. They can be installed with suitable modules for the infeed and outfeed of the trays.

The thermoforming packaging machines and traysealers can be individually customized, as per the requirements of the customers, enabling to improve package quality and output.

By combining infeed, outfeed and pack labelling modules, the company will also offer fully automated packaging solutions with enhanced efficiency.

Both MAP and skin packs made from paper fibre based materials can be applied on the Multivac systems.

The backing material can be processed either as a roll or as a cut sheet and all the materials can be separated into their respective parts by the end user and the paper backing sent for recycling.

Functional layers will enable to produce paper-based packs, which meet the barrier property requirements of plastic composites.

In addition, MAP and skin packs made of malleable paper composites can be manufactured. Paper and cardboard composites with various grammages and different functional layers are used.
