Nestlé Waters reopens Hawkins bottling facility in US

1 December 2016

Nestlé Waters North America has opened a fully restored bottling facility in Hawkins, Woody County, US.

The bottling plant, which was affected by tornado, has been reopened following a seven-month rebuilding process.

In April this year, an EF2 tornado damaged Ozarka’s bottling facility, including warehouse roof, offices, electrical room, air handlers, cooling towers, tractor trailers, and personal automobiles.

Ozarka brand natural spring water is bottled at the Hawkins facility, which is sourced from three natural springs in Texas.

The bottled water will be supplied regionally in Texas and several nearby states.

Hawkins bottling facility employs around 250 people with a payroll of more than $14m, said the company.

Nestlé Waters North America chairman, CEO and president Tim Brown said: “The reopening of our Hawkins plant reminds us of how much can be accomplished when our employees rally together.

“Employees showed optimism and resilience in the face of adversity to come back stronger than ever, while keeping community needs as one of their most important priorities. Their commitment is truly outstanding and we look forward to celebrating the team’s efforts.”

With around 8,500 employees, Nestlé Waters North America provides bottled waters through brands such as Ozarka, Nestlé Pure Life, Perrier and S. Pellegrino.

Nestlé Waters manages around 50 spring sites, in addition to about 14,000 acres of watershed as open space.
