Sappi to showcase new silicone base papers and label papers at Labelexpo Europe 2017

Sappi is set to showcase its new silicone base papers and label papers at this year’s Labelexpo Europe event in Belgium.

The event will take place from25 to 28 September at the Brussels Expo site.

At the event, the company will exhibit its Release Liner and Label Papers product groups for the customers.

The products include new clay coated kraft (CCK) carrier paper Sappi Sol DNC, in addition to two new label papers in the form of Sappi Parade Face Stock C1S and Sappi Parade Face Stock Vellum.

Sappi Sol DNC papers feature enhanced surface structure, which will enable to reduce silicone consumption during the finishing process.

The new carrier papers with a satin finish will use an advanced calendar, which will further reduce cratches on the paper and enhance the surface quality.

Sappi will also showcase a range of wet glue label papers, which can be used in different processing options.

The new Face Stock label papers in the form of Parade Face Stock C1S and Parade Face Stock Vellum have been approved for direct contact with food and adapt to DIN EN 71 for toy safety.

These self-adhesive label papers can be used in various applications, including decorative labels for tins, glass containers, single-use and multi-use bottles and stickers or price labels.

Single-side-coated semi-gloss-paper parade face stock C1S can be refined with all standard printing processes, while Parade Face Stock Vellum can be used in thermal transfer printing applications.

Parade Face Stock C1S is provided with a weight of 80 g/m2, while Parade Face Stock Vellum in grammages of 70 and 80 g/m2.

In July, Sappi agreed to acquire he barrier film technology of Rockwell Solutions to strengthen its packaging and speciality papers business.
