Sealed Air acquires French packaging equipment company, B+ Equipment
4 August 2015
Bubble Wrap maker Sealed Air said Monday it has purchased a French company called B+ Equipment, which designs, manufactures and services automated packaging equipment for product order fulfillment.
In a statement, Sealed Air said the acquisition includes B+’s proprietary I-Pack system and the newly introduced e-Cube system, which will be a boost to e-commerce operations since they provide “intelligent, high-velocity fulfillment.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of B+ further solidifies Sealed Air’s position in the growing e-commerce market with a solution that focuses on reducing the cost of shipping and increasing productivity,” Kenneth Chrisman, president of Sealed Air’s product care unit, said in the statement.
Sealed Air broke ground on its new Charlotte headquarters in the LakePoint Corporate Center in June. The manufacturer has said it expects to have a workforce of 1,262 in Charlotte, with local hires making up about half, once it finishes moving from New Jersey into its new offices in early 2017.
