Synlait signs partnership agreement with PLF International for New Consumer Packaging Facility

1 February 2015

Synlait’s vision is to become the trusted supplier of choice to the world’s leading milk-based health and nutrition companies. Based in the Canterbury region of the South Island, Synlait uses some of the best milk produced in New Zealand to give their products a clear edge in global markets with the company passionate about excellence, integrity and quality. The addition of a consumer packaging facility offers Synlait customers complete supply chain integrity as raw milk is untouched from the moment it leaves the farm to the moment it is used by a consumer.

Following the combined efforts of PLF International, RELCO Pacific and Powder Projects Ltd, Synlait’s aim of providing the finest filling technology in the Southern Hemisphere has now become reality. Custom-made PLF International powder filling machinery was installed, providing the ability to adapt the packing requirements of cans, composites or plastic with gentlest product handling.

PLF’s longevity, immense experience and impressive reference list stood out to Synlait, as did the company’s guaranteed quality, innovation and first class project execution. Successful commissioning of the filling line components has led to another satisfied customer, with visitors to the plant praising it highly.

PLF International Sales Director, Ian Hillaby, said: “Managing the successful go-live status of Synlait’s packaging facility in New Zealand from the UK was bolstered by the invaluable local assistance of our partners. We were always confident in the technology’s ability to meet the stringent operational, hygiene and quality-control needs of Synlait, but the professional, carefully-managed installation process would have been so much more difficult without their help and local knowledge. We are delighted that another PLF International filling system is ‘live’, and attracting such flattering comments.”

PLF International was founded in 1994 and is based in Harwich, Essex. The company is a worldwide market leader in vacuum powder filling technology, with a customer base that includes global brands in the food, pharmaceutical and beverage sectors.
