The Sherwood Group Invests in a New Window Patching and Carton Lining Machine

18 February 2016

The Sherwood Group has recently invested £200,000 in a new Heiber & Schroder WP 1100-2 Master window patching and carton lining machine to boost their capacity and continue their commitment to the packaging industry.

The machine will be installed in their Nottingham plant in April 2016 and will replace The Group’s current Kohmann F1120/2 window patcher. The printer will then place the Kohmann F1120/2 within its strategic alliance partner, KMD Company in Leicester, alongside the recently installed Bobst gluing line to further increase manufacturing capacity and productivity within The Group.

The new Heiber & Schroder WP 1100-2 Master window patching machine features a master feeder allowing for a larger variety of carton blank styles for the packaging industry. It also allows four different run modes to achieve optimum speed and a minimum marking for each of the individual blank style.

The recent purchases of new Heiber & Schroder WP 1100-2 Master window patching machine and Bobst Fuego 110 A2 gluing line are part of the Group’s continuous investment in its purapackaging business.

Graham Garrod, the Group’s Managing Director added: “Following a very busy year for the Group with a number of new packaging customers, we are making further investments to ensure we provide our customers with not only the best quality and printing capabilities available, but also additional capacity to meet their volume and speed of turnaround requirements”.
