TNA buys Australian confectionery equipment supplier NID

7 March 2017

Processing and packaging solutions provider tna has acquired Australian starch moulding specialist NID to further expand its confectionery portfolio.

Entrepreneur Hans Arthur Faerber founded NID in 1952 in Sydney. The company has been delivering complete mogul lines for the confectionery industry for more than 60 years.

NID was the first company in the world to patent the existing form of tray stacking on a starch mogul.

More than 600 NID moguls have been deployed globally. The company’s M3000 Mogul delivers continuous high-speed production of up to 35 trays per minute and demoulding of high quality articles of any concept or idea.

The M3000 houses a range of depositing pumps and suits an array of starch moulded articles. It can be equipped with one, two or three tray size depositing pumps in any configuration based on product requirements.

The entire staff of NID has been integrated into the tna group.

tna chief business development officer Bob Fritz said: “We’re already the only supplier on the market that is able to offer complete production lines for the French fry and potato chip industry and we’re planning to go much further.

“Expanding our services and products to more industry segments like confectionery forms a key element of our business strategy and NID was the obvious choice when it came to finding a company that would enable us to further grow our portfolio.

NID chairman Esther Faerber said: “Esther Faerber “tna’s extensive resources, including its experienced sales and service team, multiple manufacturing sites and well-established global distribution network will enable us to better service our existing customers by reducing lead times and accelerating time to market.”

The acquisition of NID follows tna’s purchase of inserting and labelling equipment supplier Unique Solutions and food processing specialist Florigo in 2015.
