Two industrial development projects proposed in Pompano Beach

15 October 2015

Pompano Beach officials will consider plans for two sizable industrial development projects at their Oct. 21 Development Review Committee.

FlexSol Packaging plans to expand its headquarters and manufacturing facility.

A subsidiary of Sigma Plastics Group, FlexSol, manufactures flexible packaging and value-added plastic films, often used for food and beverage, industrial products and agriculture. It currently occupies a 105,600-square-foot warehouse on the 9.9-acre site at 1531 N.W. 12th Ave.

Under a plan crafted by architect Avelino Leoncio, FlexSol would build a 65,000-square-foot warehouse addition plus 7,200 square feet of office in two stories. The building would have a dock height of 24 feet.

The property last traded for $13 million in 2013.

Self-storage project proposed

A developer wants to build a self-storage facility just south of Pompano Beach Airpark.

My Storage Bin, managed by Avrohom Oustatcher in Brooklyn, New York, has an application to construct a 96,954-square-foot self-storage center at 51 N.E. 10th Street.

The 3.8-acre site is along West Dixie Highway. It was acquired for $1.45 million in July.

The four-story building would have 819 self-storage units. It was designed by Keith and Associates.

There’s been a wave of self-storage center construction in South Florida to meet demand from the growing population, especially since new housing units tend to be smaller.
