Videojet Technologies Inc., a global leader in coding, marking and printing solutions, has introduced two new printers, the 1560 and 1660, both with the all new Long Life CoreTM technology. Building on the class-leading availability of the 1000 Line continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers, these new additions to the Videojet CIJ portfolio offer an extended life service core, which is guaranteed to provide five years of operation from the time of installation.
Manufacturing facilities are experiencing growing pressure to streamline production processes, reduce downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Being able to predict when equipment will require maintenance is one way to help achieve these goals. “Like other production equipment, packaging printers require annual maintenance to ensure peak performance. However, the key advantage of our new CIJ printers with the Long Life Core technology is that they offer customers simplified and predictable maintenance as there is no planned wear part replacement required in the first five years,” said Anthony Blencowe, Global Business Unit Director of Continuous Inkjet for Videojet.
First introduced in 2007, the Videojet modular service core was a breakthrough in CIJ technology and has been deployed successfully in tens of thousands of customer locations. Unlike competitive printer designs, the modular service core contains all of the critical wear parts in one field serviceable module including pump, valves and filters. Blencowe explains, “The Videojet Long Life Core design offers real benefits to the end user. In addition to reducing the maintenance burden on our customers, the core includes on-board intelligence for improved printer stability and better print quality.” The new Long Life Core technology builds on these advantages by extending the life of the core and is backed by a five year limited warranty. Blencowe continued, “The total cost of ownership advantages of the new Long Life Core technology are clear. Depending on the specific model, a customer running a 12 hour, 6 days per week operation will see anywhere from a 23 percent to 44 percent improvement in core longevity compared to our earlier 1000 line models.”
The new Videojet 1560 and 1660 offer these same advantages and also include on-board Code Assurance and Productivity Tools as standard. The advanced Code Assurance software mistake-proofs operator inputs and dramatically reduces coding errors; ensuring manufacturers get the right code on the right product time after time. In addition, the intuitive touchscreen interface provides instant access to on-screen Availability data and fault information to fix the root cause of downtime quickly and permanently. The new printers also offer the full range of features and benefits that the packaging industry has come to enjoy from the Videojet 1000 Line, including CleanFlowTM print head technology and intelligent Dynamic Calibration software designed to maintain consistent, high print quality.
“Videojet recognizes that manufacturers are striving to improve their profitability through minimizing the cost of operation. These new models with the Long Life Core technology deliver against this objective,” said Blencowe.
Videojet is committed to continuous improvement of both products and services to help customers achieve their operational objectives.
