An INDEVA model Liftronic Vacuum Grip with gripping system by vacuum to lift cardboard cases. The cases must be placed into a larger case; to this end the handles have been specially designed for allowing the end-effector (gripping tool) to be lowered deep into the larger case.
The INDEVA vacuum lifter is self balancing, thus allowing handling cases of different weights with no interruptions for selecting a different weight presetting.
To assembly lawnmowers a Company needed two workers who manually had to pick, lift, rotate by 180° and precisely position the product (weighing 30 kg) on the assembly line: this operation required consistent physical strain with non ergonomic movements for the two workers, with consequent risk of product damage and cumulative trauma injuries. Furthermore the tack time could never be achieved.
It was necessary to adopt a lift assist system to enhance productivity, achieve the tack time and at the same time improve safety for the operators. Traditional manipulators and lift assist devices such as hoists. A traditional pneumatic manipulator or a hoist was not a suitable solution mainly for the following reasons
Indeva, model Liftronic EASY E80R, overhead mounted manipulator complete with gripping tool by vacuum for lifting long steel tubes and releasing them into a lathe.
An Indeva is the most productive and efficient way for loading a lathe with heavy tubes because, thanks to its auto balancing feature, the operator can lift tubes with different weights without stopping for selecting the presetting relative to the load weight is lifting.
A well known publishing Company needed to improve productivity and find a quicker and safer way to lift cases full of books from the pallet and move them unto the conveyor. Each case weighs about 60 kg. And the operation is repeated several times a day; the manual handling was too slow and unsafe; a traditional electric hoist wouldn't have made it faster enough. Moreover the handling operation needed to be very smooth and user friendly, as well as ergonomic and safe for the operator. An hoist compels the operator to keep the up - down button constantly pressed , with possible hazard to his health (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), and it may discourage him to keep using the hoist and induce him and carry out the handling operation manually again.
Only one column mounted intelligent device for handling INDEVA, with jointed arm 2.5 m long, to lift boxes, drums, jars, and bags. This INDEVA, Liftronic model, could fully satisfy this Company request for a lift assist device for the operator that has to lift 4 different types of loadin a quick yet precise and ergonomic way, repetitively during his whole work shift
The gripping tooling is multifunctional and suitable for picking a bag, or a cardboard box or a jar or drum: if the load that comes along is a drum the operator uses the tool side equipped with a vacuum cup suitable for drums, if it is a bag he just changes the
