What Are Areca Palm Leaf Bowls?
Areca palm leaf bowls are disposable tableware made from fallen leaf sheaths of the areca palm. Farmers collect the sheaths, wash them in water, then press them into shape using heat and pressure. No tree is cut. No binders, bleach or coatings are added.
Each bowl carries its own grain, tone and texture, so no two pieces look exactly the same. That natural variation is what separates palm leaf from moulded pulp or fossil-plastic tableware.
The result is a bowl that looks premium and performs well under service. Firm walls and a stable base hold salads, grain bowls, curries, dips and saucy sides without softening or flexing on the table.
Palm leaf is naturally grease and moisture resistant. It handles hot food up to 120°C, works for short reheating, and can go in the freezer. After use, it can go into the organic or bio-waste bin where accepted. In industrial composting, palm leaf bowls break down fully within 60 to 90 days.
