Buckshaw brewery firm, Morrow Brothers opens new bottling plant

5 September 2015

A Brewery container firm has opened a new bottling plant creating 19 new jobs.

Morrow Brothers celebrated the opening of the new plant in Buckshaw Village this week and will be serving micro-breweries across the whole of the UK.

The move is being supported by Chorley Council, which provided a £23,750 grant towards the new bottling equipment.

Gerard Crompton, managing director of Morrow Brothers, said he was delighted to have a new site in Chorley.

He said: “We are in the ideal location in the centre of the north west.

“The micro-breweries don’t have the volume of beer to warrant investing in their own bottling plants, but collectively, a significant volume of business can be achieved.

“We’ve also had great support from Chorley Council and the grant really helped us and was one of the reasons we chose to locate our new plant in Chorley.”

Morrow Brothers Limited has been at the forefront of brewery container repair and refurbishment for the last 40 years and has its base in Walton Summit.

Leader of Chorley Council, Cllr Alistair Bradley, said: “Attracting new businesses like this into the borough is an important part of the work we are doing to put Chorley on the map.”
