Contemporary coffee roaster, Purssells London, has used flexible packaging group, UNI Packaging, to supply them with pouches for their speciality blends.
Launched last year, Purssells aims to represent the very best coffee available with respect to quality, provenance and taste. Alongside six distinct roasts that make up their off-the-shelf range, Purssells bespoke service can craft each coffee to a customer’s specific requirement from roast, grind and brew to tasting notes and price point.
Following trials, UNI Packaging manufactures Purssells’ pouches from a PE/aluminium laminate. Incorporating a tear notch, re-close zipper and venting valve, the pouches are digitally printed via UNI Packaging’s award winning digital print offering, Digiflex®. With low origination costs and the ability of the digital press to print various designs consecutively with no additional setup, digital print is the ideal solution for Purssells’ short run requirements.
Purssells successful entry into the booming UK coffee market has provided UNI Packaging with follow-on pouch orders, in part due to Purssells popular Queen’s Indian blend.
“This is a success story about a large multi-national manufacturing group assisting a UK start-up to find a practical packaging solution – including materials, print options, pack format and a venting valve – and thereafter providing added-value to their supply chain through ongoing support, advice and quality of product,” said UNI Packaging’s Mike Davison.
Also commenting, Purssells founder, Chris Jennings, said: “I was after a packaging partner that could provide a professional presentation of my brand, accommodate the expected low volume requirements of a micro-company, whilst maintaining flexibility and attention to detail to ensure product differentiation. In fulfilling this aim UNI Packaging has delivered on all counts, supplying a high quality product, whilst maintaining a highly efficient service.”
