Digital-printing technology firm Xeikon has established a new technology center in Tokyo, Japan, as part of its efforts to expand presence in the Asia Pacific region.
The new technology center, which is the company's second such unit in the region, deploys Xeikon's technology for producing labels and packaging applications.
It also produces applications for document and commercial printing, including 3500 digital press for folding carton printing.
Xeikon CEO WimMaes said: "We are seeing continuedand unprecedented growth in the Asia Pacific region... and we are especially pleased to be able to open this important technology center in Japan. This state-of-the-art facility will play an important role in spurring growth for Xeikon in Japan, and in helping our Japanese customers make the most of their investments in Xeikon.
"The center will focus on testing, benchmarking and product demonstrations that the Japanese printing and packaging community has been requesting and will be an important venue for face-to-face meetings, which are so important in Japanese culture."
Xeikon has expertise in designing, developing and delivering web-fed digital color presses for labels and packaging applications, document printing and commercial printing, based on LED-array-based dry toner electrophotography.
As an OEM supplier, Xeikon makes plate makers for newspaper offset printing applications and it designs digital platemaking systems under ThermoFlexX brand for the flexographic market.
Xeikon Asia Pacific (ASPAC) managing director Bent Serritslev said: "Xeikon continues its expansion in this important region... Xeikon will also launch its devices at Labelexpo next month with Cheetah technology for high-quality label printing and Xeikon 9800 for document printing solutions.
