Rotherham-based packaging firm, Cepac Limited continues expansion with new acquisition

26 October 2015

Rotherham-based Cepac Limited, a supplier of corrugated packaging, has continued its ongoing expansion and acquired Alfreton-based Woodhill Printers.

The deal is the latest corporate transaction to be made by the £100m turnover business as it continues to grow in size.

The Sheffield offices of law firm Irwin Mitchell and advisory firm Grant Thornton advised on the acquisition.

Legal advice for Cepac was provided by Matt Ainsworth and Michael Hall of Irwin Mitchell. Claire Davis, of Grant Thornton, provided corporate finance advice on the deal and was supported by Fletcher Adamaowicz from a tax perspective.

Matt Ainsworth said: “Cepac is a leading player in the corrugated packaging sector and this deal will no doubt strengthen its position in its chosen markets.

The newly acquired business shares Cepac’s customer orientated-approach as well as its vision to be a true innovator in a competitive market and I have no doubt that it will support further growth.”

Claire Davis added: “Together with Irwin Mitchell, we have advised Cepac on four acquisitions in the last three years and it’s great to see the company continuing to look to the future and seize opportunities to grow with the addition of these complementary businesses.“

Cepac is part of the HSA group of companies and produces corrugated packaging solutions.

The firm’s Rotherham plant is regarded within the industry as one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced corrugated packaging plants.
