29 February 2024

Duravant LLC a world-class developer of automation solutions and high-tech equipment for various industries-food processing, packaging and material handling-today announced that it has acquired Ferdinand Henneken GmbH (“Henneken”), a leading manufacturer of protein food processing equipment based in Bad Wünnenberg, Germany. Henneken designs and manufactures innovative equipment-vacuum drums, tenderizers, injectors and brine mixers-that deliver higher yields and improved quality across a range of meat, poultry and seafood processing systems.

Henneken is a strategic acquisition for Duravant as it expands investments in the growing protein foods sector. The products and services offered by Henneken are highly complementary and enhance Duravant's capabilities to offer integrated and complete equipment solutions.

“We are pleased to have seized the opportunity to expand our offering of equipment and technologies for protein food processing systems by welcoming Henneken to the Duravant family,” comments Mike Kachmer, CEO and Chairman of the Duravant Board of Directors. “Henneken's unwavering commitment to excellence and passion for innovation have driven the strong results it has achieved, and we look forward to building on its legacy of providing customer-focused solutions.”

Since 1977, Henneken has been a leading developer of secondary treatment system solutions for food companies and meat producers around the world. Combining the renowned engineering expertise of German companies with an in-depth understanding of the science and technology of meat processing, Henneken designs rotary, injection and brine mixing equipment that ensures high product quality and consistency while reducing handling times and treatment. Henneken's in-house technical center operates as an innovation hub where its teams of engineers and technologists collaborate with customers to test products and develop customized solutions.

“We are very pleased to join forces with Duravant in this new, very interesting phase of growth,” adds Volker Henneken, a member of the company's founding family. “Duravant's global infrastructure will allow us to expand into new geographic regions and better serve our existing customer base.” Concludes Kai Henneken, also a member of the Henneken founding family: “We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with other Duravant companies such as Marlen, Marelec and Foodmate. We share a culture of commitment to creating superior value for meat and poultry processors through innovation and continued focus on meeting customer needs.”
