KHS launches new InnoPET Plasmax machines for small bottlers and converters

13 September 2017

Filling and packaging systems manufacturer KHS Group has introduced new InnoPET Plasmax machines for small bottlers and converters.

KHS’ new machines feature FreshSafe PET coating technology, which enables to cover inside of the PET bottle with a wafer-thin layer of pure glass

The wafer-thin layer of pure glass will help to fully recycle the bottle and protect sensitive products such as juice, wine, sauce and liquid food from oxidation and carbonated beverages from carbon dioxide loss.

InnoPET Plasmax 2Q and 4Q machines hold capacity to produce 1,800 and 3,600 containers per hour, helping converters and smaller bottling plants to expand their production capacity.

The 2Q machine will produce 1,800 500-milliliter bottles per hour, while the 4Q can produce 3,600 0.5-liter containers per an hour.

The new InnoPET Plasmax 2Q machine will be used to produce PET bottles between 80 milliliters and 1.5 liters capacity. It can process container necks of up to 38 millimeters in diameter.

KHS is planning to expand the coating options beyond the current dimensions to include other container variants.

KHS Corpoplast product manager Philipp Langhammer said: “With our new, compact InnoPET Plasmax machines we have two particular target markets in focus: firstly, customers who wish to develop new markets through pilot production, and secondly, clients whose filling quantities were too low to date to enable them to profit from this established technology.

“We support our customers right from the start as they grow. Our new InnoPET Plasmax machines act as an introduction to high-quality interior coating.”

With multiple subsidiaries outside Germany, KHS manufactures filling and packaging systems for the beverage, food and non-food industries.
