Marbach has invested in Kiefel’s new KMD85 thermoforming machine, in a bid to improve the productivity and quality of the products.

The company has installed the new machine at its Heilbronn facility in Germany, which also houses die-cutting technology equipment.

Kiefel’s KMD85 machine is used to produce products made of (R)PET, PP, PS, CPET, OPS, PLA, PE and others.

The machine features pyrometer, which will measure and maintain stable film temperature through closed-loop auto heat performance adjustment.

It also includes forming station with independent servo-plug on upper table, while stacking station design is available as up-stacker, down-stacker or pick and place option.

The KMD85’s forming and cutting station in solid steel cast structure with needle bearings will help in perfect cutting of toggles and tension bars.

In addition, the machine offers frame extension for hole-punching station and integration of padding station or slug-removal station.

Marbach sales director Hubert Kittelmann said: “Worldwide process support and tool service for all current machine manufacturers on-site. This is one of our unique selling points. Only perfect interaction between machine and tool can deliver highest productivity and excellent quality in thermoforming.”

Marbach service manager Ferdinand Rieker: “We were glad Kiefel made this training possible. Such a long and intensive exchange of experience between experts of the machine and tool technology was especially valuable for us.”

Marbach produces rotary die-cutting, flat die-cutting and thermoforming solutions. The firm also offers diversified packaging solutions such as yoghurt cups and labels.
