Quad/Graphics installs Fujilfilm’s J Press 720S at Dallas facility

Quad/Graphics has installed Fujilfilm’s J Press 720S at its commercial and specialty facility in Dallas, Texas, US.

The facility produces short-run and print-on-demand catalogs, annual reports, manuals, marketing brochures, retail circulars and case-bound books, in addition to direct mail, kit packing and fulfillment products.

Fujilfilm North America’s graphic division installed second generation sheetfed J Press 720S, which features 29.6in x 20.9in inch sheet.

The machine, which can effectively handle shortest press runs, can produce 2,700 sheets per hour. The 120,000ft² Dallas facility includes around 100 onsite employees.

Quad/Graphics digital print executive director George Forge said: “The J Press 720S delivers the closest thing to offset-like quality digital output I’ve seen, with impressive flesh tones and high definition images that pop on a wide variety of stocks, including uncoated and heavier stocks.

Fujifilm North America, which is a marketing subsidiary of Fujifilm Holdings America, has  five operating divisions and one subsidiary company.
