Xaar prepares for full commercialization of 5601 printhead solution

UK-based inkjet technology provider Xaar is planning to showcase its Xaar 5601 new Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS printhead at the upcoming InPrint 2017, which is scheduled to be held from 14-16 November in Munich, Germany.

In preparation for full commercial launch, the firm intends to demonstrate its four color print capabilities as well as the numerous advantages of its Xaar 5601 new Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS printhead.

At the event, Xaar senior product manager Jason Remnant will also present “Revolutionary inkjet technology to take on the Packaging industry” which covers how features and technologies will help further implementation of digital technology in the packaging industry.

Remnant said: “As we get ready for the full commercialization of such a significant new printhead platform, there are a number of key milestones we have had to pass. We are keen to showcase at InPrint 2017 the four color print samples produced by the Xaar 5601 so that interested parties can see for themselves its exceptionally high resolution print quality.

“We’re also here to talk about the development of the ecosystem which surrounds the Xaar 5601, which includes the drive electronics and ink supply system which are necessary to ensure OEMs get the most out of the new technology.”

The firm intends to demonstrate full A4 CMYK colour print samples produced by eight Xaar 5601 printheads at the event.

The Xaar 5601 features number of innovative technologies including new Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS technology and has very high resolution with over 5600 nozzles, capable of jetting up to 8 liters of fluid per hour.

Additional features of Xaar 5601 include AcuDrp Technology to allow complete control over greyscale drop ejection for perfect image quality as well as TF Technology to maximize production up time, print quality and lifetime.
