Emsur looks to Enprom to improve productivity

14 April 2021

Emsur, the Spanish flexible packaging division of the global packaging group, Grupo Lantero, has installed an Enprom 1400mm web width eS2T140 at their Polish plant in Warsaw. The nonstop double turret slitter rewinder is Emsur’s second Enprom investment recently, the first being an eRS2T3 to replace one of its existing sleeve machines at its Madrid plant in Alcalá de Henares.

Bringing over 25 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of premium flexible packaging solutions for dairy, beverages, home and personal care, coffee and food products, Emsur has 9 production plants in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. With a reported 4.4% year-on-year uplift in the flexible packaging market, investment in technologically advanced solutions that add value and improve productivity is a key element of Emsur's ongoing development strategy.

Enprom’s eS2T140 has a dual slitting system and includes an automatic double turret rewinder with reel loading output on the support arm. Focusing on safety, ergonomic friendliness, speed and finished roll quality, the machine yields faster web speeds, minimises setup time for new jobs, reduces time for roll unloading between finished sets, streamlines roll packaging solutions and helps avoid unnecessary downtime.

“The eS2T140 is a machine prepared for two types of slitting, both circular and gillette knives,” said Josep Orozco, flexible packaging expert at Enprom Solutions. “This offers the possibility of being able to slit different materials with high performance by adapting the slitting system in the same web path. Also, the turret system with automatic material unloading makes it possible to improve productivity with respect to existing slitters on the market, a performance that is maximised in the case of heavy reels, by always supporting the ends of the rewinder shafts. This machine includes an excellent tension control and web guide, achieving speeds of 600 mpm, accelerating and decelerating in less than 25 seconds.”

Alejandro García, chief technical officer at Emsur, added: “The new Enprom slitter has been installed at Emsur Poland to improve our capacity to slit flexible packaging and shrink sleeve labels, while reinforcing safety in the production peaks of our dairy portfolio.”

“We seek a compromise between high performance and flexibility in a production unit with a rapid service requirement. With Enprom, we are confident that we have found the desired product.”

Enprom Solutions, jointly acquired by A B Graphic and Kocher+Beck, was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Girona, near Barcelona. Its product range includes equipment for shrink sleeve converting, slitting, and rewinding, label finishing, coating and lamination and hybrid converting.
