The use of VCI side gusset bags in the KLT has been an effective protection against corrosion and contamination for components for years. The CORPALIN VCI film releases the active ingredients into the air inside the closed film bag. These settle on the clean metal surface and prevent the reaction with moisture and oxygen. An adhesive tape is normally used to close the film.

The recipient must open the taped gusset bag before the goods are made available. This can be done with a sharp knife or by hand. The risk of accidents increases with the knife, with the hand you need more time. Finally, the film is turned over to the outside via the KLT to remove the components. And here the foil bothers!

More and more automatic removal systems are being used in production. These require fixed points for the control. The film reliably covers this. In another case, the removal of components is recorded by a light barrier in order to avoid errors in assembly. The light barrier is interrupted by protruding foils. Error messages appear.

The CORPALIN VCI gusset bag with tear-off perforation is successfully used to improve process reliability. A perforation at the height of the container allows the recipient to quickly, easily and safely open the packaging by tearing off the foil. The components are freely accessible. The fixed points can be easily recognized by the machine. Overlapping film no longer triggers error messages.

Often the objection arises that this perforation limits the VCI effect and the humidity in the packaging increases significantly. Comparative tests in the climatic chamber showed the opposite: Despite the perforation, the humidity cannot penetrate the inside of the packaging. The corrosion protection is not reduced.
