Oji Group announces the decision on establishment of a new plant in Vietnam and production capacity expansion for corrugated container at two of existing plants in Malaysia.
Oji Group set “Further expansion of overseas business” as one of the major pillars to strive towards the realization of an innovative value-creating company. Demand for corrugated container in Vietnam and Malaysia is expanding due to continuously growing economies.
1. Establishment of a new plant in Vietnam
Ojitex Haiphong Co., Ltd. has been operating two plants in northern Vietnam. Demand for corrugated container is forecasted to increase mainly from Japanese companies and Oji Group has decided to establish a new plant in Ha Nam Province to keep providing quality products and services. The new plant is Oji Group’s 5th corrugated container plant in Vietnam and 30th packaging plant in South East Asia.

2. Production capacity expansion in Malaysia
Oji Group has eight corrugated container plants in Malaysia (3 in north, 3 in central area and 2 in south) including one that will start operation in June 2018. Central area is the largest corrugated container market and to strengthen its business bases Oji Group has decided production capacity expansion utilizing unused lands of two of the three plants in central area - Harta Packaging Industries (Selangor) Sdn. Bhd and Dazun Paper Industrial Company Sdn. Bhd.
Both plants will double their production capacities with these investments.
