Amcor introduces first Moda vacuum sealing lines in Brazil through strategic partnership with Barra Mansa Alimentos

17 June 2026

Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, announced the installation of the first Moda rotary vacuum chamber sealing technology in Brazil. The implementation was done in partnership with Barra Mansa Alimentos, a leading Brazilian meat processor.

The partnership marks an important step in Amcor’s expansion across Latin America, reinforcing the company’s commitment to one of the region’s fastest-growing protein markets. Through continued investments in advanced packaging technologies, manufacturing capabilities, cutting-edge equipment and specialized sales and technical teams, Amcor is strengthening its position and delivering fully integrated packaging solutions to help customers improve efficiency, performance and operational consistency.

As part of its new deboning line, Barra Mansa Alimentos sought an integrated solution to improve productivity, optimize vacuum packaging performance for its Oranges Alimentos brand and streamline operations. Amcor delivered its Moda Vac high-speed system alongside packaging materials and on-the-ground equipment and technical service to ensure a seamless implementation.

The operational impact has been immediate, with the new lines increasing production capacity while improving operational consistency, vacuum performance and process reliability. The installation of three Amcor Moda Vac rotary vacuum chamber sealing systems replaced up to nine belt chamber machines, which are commonly used across the Latin American protein industry. The solution increases throughput while delivering exceptional vacuum quality and greater consistency across packaging operations.

“This project demonstrates how our integrated approach — combining materials, equipment, and technical expertise — helps customers improve productivity, consistency and long-term competitiveness,” said Marcelo Queiroz, vice president and general manager for Amcor in Brazil. “Brazil is a strategic growth market for Amcor, and initiatives like this reflect the progress we are making to expand our capabilities, invest in innovation and work more closely with customers to support their long-term growth.”

For Barra Mansa, the project represents a major step in operational modernization. “The implementation of Moda Vac technology has significantly improved our productivity and vacuum performance,” noted Felipe Oranges, operations director for Barra Mansa & Oranges Alimentos. “The system’s stability, versatility and ease of integration into our production flow were decisive in our decision.”

Upon completion of all three lines in 2026, Barra Mansa will operate one of the most advanced rotary vacuum sealing systems in the region, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and operational excellence in Brazil’s meat industry.
