Preferred Packaging Launches GreenStream™ Fiber Trays: A New Standard in Sustainable Meal Packaging

22 July 2025

Preferred Packaging, a division of C-P Flexible Packaging, has introduced GreenStream™ fiber trays, a groundbreaking sustainable solution for packaged meals.

Made from natural bagasse plant fibers, these trays are compostable, curbside recyclable, and free of PFAS—all while offering the strength and performance required for freezer, microwave, and oven use.

Designed with a peelable liner to minimize food residue and ensure recyclability, GreenStream™ trays help brands meet Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and sustainability goals. They’re compatible with recyclable and compostable lidding films, including Preferred’s own Affirm™ films.

“GreenStream™ gives prepared meals a sustainable upgrade without sacrificing performance,” said Chadd Floria, General Manager of Preferred Packaging.

To support sustainability from packaging to sealing, Preferred Packaging also offers OmniSeal™ high-efficiency tray sealing equipment for all volumes and budgets.
