Crates

Millwood takes pride in our comprehensive, systems based approach to shipping. Although we may be known for our pallets, we also provide a variety of other hardwood lumber and softwood lumber products. For packaging needs that have more intensive requirements, we offer packing crates for shipping. Our wooden packing crates are ideal for protection and packaging of loads. We carry both open slat crates and solid panel crates – we will build to your specification. Both types of wooden crates and their shipping platforms can be custom-made to fit any application. These packing crates are made with same reliable production processes and lumber product as our wooden pallets. Providing a wood frame superstructure and extra protection, our solid panel crates are stackable for convenient storage. The solid panel wooden crates are made with plywood or oriented strand board (OSB).

We know that export specifications can be difficult to follow. All crates are specially heat treated by Millwood and meet ISPM-15 standards. When you are finished with these packaging crates, you can either collapse them, return them for reuse, or keep them kitted for extra space saving. Our crates can be ordered with hardwood, softwood, or mixed hardwood.

Millwood has sawmill operations across the country that supply lumber for these wooden packing crates. We manufacture a majority of the lumber for our packing crates. We also partner with trusted sawmill operations for the rest of the lumber needs. Millwood only partners with sawmills that have been certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. Plus, we have all softwood inspected by Timber Products Inspection, a third party lumber consulting company.
