2-PIECE DRAWN AND IRONED (D&I) STEEL

How it’s made:

1. A coil is fed into the cupping press and the initial
   cup is drawn.
2. The cup is then conveyed into a body maker where a die punches it through a series of rings.
3. This process results in the cup walls being ironed or thinned to a predetermined height.
4. The pre-form is then flanged, beaded and coated before final inspection.
